Audrey Turcotte est étudiante au doctorat avec Hubert Morin en codirection avec Cornelia Krause. Elle s'intéresse à l'impact combiné des précipitations azotées et du réchauffement printanier du sol sur la croissance radiale de l’épinette noire mature en forêt boréale naturelle.

Le dr. Pothier est co-titulaire de la chaire de recherche industrielle CRSNG-Université Laval en sylviculture et faune  et membre de la chaire de recherche industrielle CRSNG-Produits forestiers Anticosti.

THÈMES DE RECHERCHE

Mes recherches visent à comprendre et à décrire les peuplements forestiers de façon à mettre au point des traitements sylvicoles adaptés et des modèles de simulation aptes à prédire l'évolution de certaines composantes clés comme la production ligneuse, la mortalité, la composition forestière ou la structure diamétrale des peuplements. présentement, mes travaux sont concentrés dans la forêt boréale de la Côte-Nord où les longs cycles de feu donnent une emprise considérable aux perturbations secondaires, ce qui contribue à diversifier la structure et la composition des peuplements. Une attention particulière est donc portée aux défoliations de la tordeuse des bourgeons de l'épinette qui peut causer beaucoup de mortalité et induire des changements de composition dont il faut tenir compte dans le cadre d'un aménagement durable.
